Madeleline Child: Sweet As

Whitespace Gallery presents an exhibition of new works by Madeleline Child on display from December 9th - 24th 2008.

The popcorn started after giving in to my kids hankering to buy coloured popcorn and given the opportunity to inspect it closely I (annoyingly) became excited and fascinated by its fleshy gorgeousness, organic fecundity and forbidden fruitiness ... This mixed in with lots of messages and information on food politics, additives etc and how loaded, how big food is now ... Dis-comfort food or eye candy. 

Madeleine Child is a ceramic artist currently employed as Head of Ceramics at Otago Polytechnic School of Art in Dunedin. Child has studied her art at the prestigious London universities of St Martins College of Art and the Royal College of Art where she obtained an advanced studies in 3D and a masters degree respectively.

Exhibition opening preview Tuesday December 9th from 5:30 - 7:30pm.
