Coronet Peak Ski Field
Queenstown’s Coronet Peak ski filed is scheduled to open for the winter season in June 2008.
With 280 skiable hectares and 6 lifts, Coronet Peak is situated just 10 minutes drive from Queenstown. This is the South Island’s most popular ski area, thanks to diverse terrain, fantastic views, proximity to Queenstown and a cosmopolitan ambience. There’s a FIS specification Fruju half pipe and a dedicated terrain park. The mountain’s longest run, the M1-Big Easy is 2.4 km long and popular with intermediate and advanced skiers and riders.
Coronet Peak is host to many sporting and social events including the FIS rated Southern Cup and the Southern Hemisphere’s ultimate winter celebration, the Lindauer Queenstown Winter Festival. It is also the training ground of New Zealand’s National Ski Team.
All multiday passes purchased at Coronet Peak are valid at both Mt Hutt skifield in Canterbury, and The Remarkables.
