Christchurch Architecture from the 1940s - 1970s
This archival film programme focuses on Christchurch Architecture from the 1940s - 1970s.
The programme includes NZFA archival footage of Christchurch's most recognisable post-war buildings, namely Sir Miles Warren's Christchurch Town Hall and Dorset Street Flats and Peter Bevan's Lyttelton Tunnel Building and QEII complex. The work of architects George Lucking, Paul Pascoe and Don Donnithorne also feature in the programme.
Heritage Week aims to raise awareness of our special heritage places, and the importance and benefits of conserving them. 2008's theme is RETROspective: Christchurch life, architecture and design 1940s - 1970s. Get ready for some retro fun!
